Eligibility to Apply for the North Carolina
Teachers Institute

 

Eligibility to apply for the North Carolina Teachers Institute is open to

 

  • Any currently teaching K-12 public school educator with 3 or more years of experience. This includes media specialists, curriculum facilitators, reading coordinators, guidance counselors, computer/technology specialists, school social workers, etc., as well as classroom teachers.
  • Applicants may apply to participate in one or more Teachers Institute programs.
  • Former Teachers Institute participants may also apply.
  • All Teachers Institute programs are FREE to selected participants. This includes food, double-occupancy lodging, and all texts and other reading materials.
  • Stipends of $75 for weekend seminars and $350 for week-long seminars are provided to participants for completion of a seminar.
  • Certificates are provided for credit renewal (CEUs) through teachers’ individual school districts.
  • Optional graduate credit is available for the week-long seminar.
  • Prior reading and study is required for all week-long seminars and for some week-end seminars.
  • Educators who have previously participated in the Teachers Institute programs may re-apply for new programs. Their applications will be considered along with those of educators new to the Teachers Institute.
