Pulitzer NC: The Power of Words

Pulitzer NC: The Power of Words (2016), was a multifaceted, statewide public program that sought to illuminate the impact of journalism and the humanities on American life today, to imagine their future, and to inspire new generations to consider the values represented by the body of Pulitzer Prize-winning work. Presented by the North Carolina Humanities Council, the project is part of the Pulitzer Prizes Centennial Campfires Initiative, it was a joint venture of the Prizes Board and the Federation of State Humanities Council in celebration of the 2016 centennial of the Prizes. Pulitzer NC connected Pulitzer Prize-winners and their work to live and online audiences across the North Carolina through engaging discussions, presentations, and conversations.

The NCHC brought to this project more than 43 years of expertise in collaborating with scholars and organizations to develop and present insightful and engaging Pulitzer-themed humanities programs to audiences across the state.
