Fasih U. Ahmed, Ph.D.

Professor of Sociology and Social Work at NC A&T State University, former United Nation’s consultant to the government of Pakistan and advisor to the Ministry of Planning

Fasih Ahmed, a native-born Pakistani and a Muslim, has been living in the United States for the last 30 years. He received his doctorate in sociology from the University of Chicago in 1976 and is currently a professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at NC A&T State University. Dr. Ahmed has served in the United Nations as consultant to the government of Pakistan and as United Nations adviser to the Ministry of Planning, Government of PDR Yemen. Locally, Dr. Ahmed is the past chair of the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Interfaith Council.
