The Science of Climate Change

Much has been said, and is currently being said about climate change. Opponents of taking action claim they have valid scientific evidence that refutes humans are causing what we are witnessing in our climate today. This presentation focuses on the science behind climate change, from the earliest warnings decades ago to the status of the science today. Much of Eastern North Carolina lies near sea level and is in the path of tropical storms, making it especially vulnerable to sea level rise and stronger storms. Likewise, North Carolina is one of the most biologically diverse regions in North America, and a changing climate poses a real threat to the state's biology. Can anything be done to protect our more fragile ecosystems?
