Tamra Wilson, M.F.A.

Fiction writer, essayist

Tamra Wilson is the author of Dining with Robert Redford and Other Stories, short fiction about small-town life and is co-editor of the anthology, Idol Talk: Women Writers on the Teenage Infatuations That Changed Their Lives (McFarland). She has written a local newspaper column since 2006. Her creative work often explores themes of family conflict, belonging, and obsession with celebrity. Her work has appeared in storySouthNorth Carolina Literary Review, The New Guard, Epiphany and elsewhere. Wilson was a finalist for the Machigonne Fiction Prize and Killer Nashville Claymore Award and has received two regional artist projects grants funded in part by the NC Arts Council. She is an alumna of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and the University of Southern Maine.
