Raheem lives in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a B.A. degree from North Carolina Central University and received a Military Commission from Duke University. Raheem has attained his Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Law Enforcement Certifications. He is an instructor in both the Basic Law Enforcement and Detention Officer Academies and he gives GANG Awareness Presentations throughout North Carolina.

Currently, Raheem serves as the Community Services Captain with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office where he oversees the following: School Resource Officers responsible for safeguarding 26 Durham Public Schools, Warrant Control which houses all orders for arrest, and Warrant Squad who actively serve the processes and the Community Oriented Policing Unit. He is also the commander of the Honor Guard and Hostage Negotiations Team. Raheem has worked extensively within the community and with youth. In September of 2013 he assisted with the creation of a youth empowerment program called CHOICES (Creating Healthy Opportunities Inspiring Children to have Everyday Success). He also currently serves on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.

In his spare time Raheem enjoys visiting museums, reading poetry and performs in a traditional Latin Dance group called Huepa.
