Lynn Wright-Kernodle earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1990, specializing in English education with a focus on writing, thought, and language. She received an A.B. from Greensboro College and a Masters degree from Duke University. Her experience includes work as a legislative researcher in Washington, D.C., twelve years as a classroom teacher of English and journalism in the North Carolina public schools, and twenty-two years of teaching in UNC Greensboro's School of Education. Wright-Kernodle has worked in various capacities with the Humanities Council since 1992 including serving as Acting Executive Director. As Director of the Teachers Institute, she has conducted over 30 seminars for K-12 educators throughout the state.
